Hi, everyone!!! I started reading this book last night called the Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler and it is really a page-turner! Well, the title itself begs you to read it but it truly is an interesting read. I have to admit that I was expecting it to be more shocking than it is.
I know many of you have probably heard of the Vagina Monologues. When I was at CMU, one of my friends acted in one of the many plays that are being held world wide about the book.
At first glance it seems like just another rant about men hating women and women hating men but it's not. It's a collaboration of stories about women and their sexuality, the good and the bad and even the incredibly sexy. It's also about helping women to learn how to be okay with being a woman.
If a man were to read it, I would say that he would get out of it that women love to be loved. That we don't like to be violated and that if you are gentle and kind and understanding, we could be your best friend forever. He would also see that lack of these things in some of our lives has brought a lot of misery to us.
I encourage you to read it. I found my copy at a local library and I'm sure you can find a copy either at your local library, college, university or book store. You can buy a copy at www.Villard.com .
